Do you, like me, come up with ideas that you want to try but that never go anywhere? I came across this odd little sketch while I was skimming through old sketchbooks, looking for ideas. I recall clearly why I did it: I was and still am captivated by artist books. In fact, I have more than a few publications with photographs of artist books.* I have at least half a dozen of ideas for artist books that I really want to plunge into. I love the potential for a visual narrative that hints at but never resolves the question of who we are. I still want to tackle an artist's book of my own. Oddly, this little orphaned sketch put an end to my explorations. I wonder why.
