Presented by the Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association (NEMAA), Art-A-Whirl is the largest open studio tour in the country. It’s a great opportunity to tour private artist studios and galleries, connect with the artists, and purchase original artwork.
I am so proud to be a part of this organization. Art-A-Whirl is great fun! It’s a chance for us artists to schmooze with everyone from casual art-crawlers to serious collectors. Conversations include travels, how to encourage an interest in art in kids, renewing old dreams of painting, and, of course, answering “how long it took me to paint that.”

So don your most comfortable shoes (this is important!),  grab a catalog in any of the buildings on the AAW route, ride the free trolley between buildings, but most of all, be sure to visit me in Gallery 427, Northrup King Bldg. I’d love to chat about where you’ve traveled, how to start drawing/painting, how to ignite your kids’ interests in art, and yes, how long it took me to paint that!
